Wheel throwing （4 course classes ） (Markham)

Four weeks, one small group, real progression — not a one-off dabble. You'll leave with 5 to 8 finished pieces you actually made yourself, start to finish.

Starts Thursday, September 3 — 12:00–2:00 PM or 7:00–9:00 PM, one class a week for four weeks (through September 24).

How the four weeks go

Week one is orientation and the basics — centering on the wheel or getting comfortable with hand-building, starting your first piece or two. Week two moves into real forms: bowls, cups, plates, working on shaping and thickness as you add more pieces. By week three your earlier work is leather-hard, so it's trimming, handles, and texture. Week four is finishing touches and glaze planning — you'll leave your pieces with us for firing.

What's included

5kg of clay, full access to the wheels and hand-building tables, all tools, and an instructor with you throughout. We bisque fire, glaze, and final-fire everything. Extra clay is $10/kg if you want it, firing and glazing included.

Getting your pieces

After the last class, plan on 2–3 weeks for firing depending on the kiln queue — we'll email you when they're ready. Pieces left past 30 days may get recycled. Shipping starts at $6 if you can't make it in.

Before you come in

Wear something you don't mind getting clay on (aprons provided), closed-toe shoes, and arrive 5–10 minutes early. Plans change — email contact@ootb.ca to reschedule or cancel. Photos are welcome, just be mindful of the people working next to you.
