Pottery birthday parties in Markham: everything parents need to know
Share
Bouncy castles are fun for an hour. A pottery party gives every guest a creation of their own, and the birthday child gets to feel like an artist for the day. Here is how parties work at OOTB Markham, 145 Royal Crest Court, Unit 31, Markham.
Kids parties, ages 6 to 12
The kids party package is $500 and includes:
- 3 hours of private studio time: 2 hours of making and 1 hour to celebrate
- An instructor who leads the activity step by step
- Hand building with clay: pinch pots, small bowls, mini plates, animals and simple sculptures
- All materials and aprons, plus setup and cleanup
- Firing and glazing after the party, so the pieces are finished
- A surprise ceramic gift for the birthday child
Six children are included. You can add more for $80 each, up to 12 in total. An extra hour is $100.
Teen parties, 12 and up
Teens can do more, so the teen party package ($500) is designed for ages 12 and up. It is a great choice for a birthday or a group of friends who want something different.
After the party
Clay needs time to dry and be fired, so the pieces aren't ready on the day. We fire and glaze everything after the party and let you know when it is ready to pick up. Tip: tell guests' parents at the party so pickup is easy.
Party planning tips
- Book 3 to 4 weeks ahead, more for weekends.
- Dress kids in clothes that can get a little messy.
- Bring the cake: the last hour is for celebrating.
